Before I ever learned what a declarations page was, I spent over a decade learning something far more foundational: how to truly listen to people. My background in customer service taught me that the gap between a great client experience and a forgettable one almost always comes down to one thing — whether someone felt heard, informed, and respected.
When I entered the insurance industry five years ago, I brought that belief with me. And what I found surprised me. The industry had no shortage of policies, premiums, or producers — but it had a serious deficit of clear, honest communication. Too many clients were signing documents they didn't understand. Too many agency teams were running on autopilot rather than intention.
So I got to work. I grew into a management role within three years, overseeing an Arizona agency and building a culture where client education was non-negotiable — not a nice-to-have.
